YESTERDAY . . .

Today, I'm stuck inside beacuse it's raining. I'm not a big fan of the rain. I LOVE the snow, but the rain? No thank you! (although, the puddles left behind are always fun).
So, I'm left to just look out the window and dream of drier, warmer days (like yesterday) . . .

Yesterday was nice and sunny and warm. My Lisa put out a large bowl of water with a big ball of ice in it on the lawn, so I could play "Bobbing for Ice" and stay cool.

I know it's in here somewhere, I just saw it!

Darn! I ALMOST had it!!

I got it!!! Yay!
I had to bark at it a little to make sure it wasn't going to jump around and try to get away like it did in the bowl . . .

When the ice was gone, I got bored. So, I decided to do something that I thoroughly enjoy AND that gets my Lisa's goat. EATING GRASS!!!

Such a nice quiet afternoon!

But, that was yesterday, and today is rainy and yucky :-(

Standing in for Binky

Across the street and a little to the side there lives a collie-mix pup named Binky. Binky is a very pretty girl who has a very important job! Binky's house is situated in the perfect spot to be able to see a mian road, our street and several side streets. This allows Binky to keep tabs on the whole neighborhood! She lets us know everything! If someone is coming around the corner, she barks. If a car that doesn't "live" around here turns into the neighborhood, she barks. If a dog is coming around on their walk, she barks. If one of the dog owners on the block are coming home, she barks. I think you get the idea! She provides an invaluable service to us dogs in the area!

Anyway, on Sunday, Binky wasn't at "work"! So, I barked over to see if she was ok. She said she was stuck inside because no one would be home until the evening. Oh, the horror! She asked if I would step in for her for the afternoon while I was outside with my Lisa. Being the gentleman and good friend that I am, I of course agreed!

Me, the "new sheriff on the block":

Here, I am sitting to avoid my cover being blown!

KEEPING MY EYES PEELED!
(Hey... is that the ice cream truck down there? ? ?)

Break Time! (I'll lay here and wait for lunch to be served . . . )

Time for a neighborhood perimeter check . . . .

Relaxing after a hard day's work . . . . .

Whew! Binky sure makes this look easy! I hope I did a good job, my Lisa said I did, I hope Binky thinks so.

DOWN AT THE FISHING PIER

Hi everyone!

On Saturday, Patra interrupted my nap and asked me if I wanted to go for a drive. Well, she knows she doesn't have to ask ME twice... I LOVE a drive!

It was early evening and I was wondering where we were going. The windows were open a bit and I could smell something different but familiar in the air. . . kinda salty. And then I knew . . . "we're going to the big water!!!" On our way there, there was a road check and we had to stop. The officer on the left told us we were "good" and to continue on, just then the officer on the right (my side of the car) said, "Hey! Look at the bulldog!" So the other officer peeked in, "Oh wow! He's really cute! Cool dog!!" I telepathically said "Thanks! I like you too, you're a nice guy!" And we were back on our way.

Moments later, we turned right and pulled into the Pier/Bait Station parking lot. Let me explain that unfortunately, dogs are not allowed out of the car at the beach or any part of the "State Park/Beach" property. They have signs all over to let us know :-( Personally, I think the rule is just plain silly. It's the PEOPLE that leave all kinds of messes behind, not us pets! We just want to have a nice time and play!

Anyway, Patra drove around and pulled up along the edge of the parking lot closest to the fishing piers, so I could smell and watch. I LOVE "people watching"! There was a man at the end of the kayak pier that was interesting :

But this guy was a lot more fun to watch. He kept flailing this big stick back and forth . . . I thought at first that maybe he wanted to play with me! But he didn't pay much attention to me (I think maybe he was visually impaired and just COULDN'T see me. Why else would anyone not notice or pay attention to a bulldog, right?). He continued to play with the stick, then got frustrated and left. I think he was new to this because he was dressed a lot nicer than the others who were there!

I the sun started going down and we parked on the other side so I could watch. I love sunsets! :

I suddenly felt kinda tired and began to yawn. Patra took the hint and began driving home. I was feeling a bit munchy and was hoping she would stop at the big yellow "M" on our way (as is our habit most of the time . . .) and, she did NOT disappoint! When we got home, I had a few fries and a tiny taste of the ice cream (why is she so stingy with the ice cream??). I settled on to the couch (I'm trying to boycott my beds to get a new one!) and waited for my Lisa to come home.

What a nice evening!
