Random-ness

Hey guys!
Nothing super exciting has been going on, so I thought I'd share some older memories with you all!

These are when I was super-tiny and liked to crawl up into a lap and snuggle my way into a nap:

These are from my visit to a local park. We only went a couple of times because My Lisa was told that a few dogs got sick there :-( The retriever's name was Zoe, they were a lot of fun to play with, though! They didn't even mind when I was leaping and landing on top of them like a wrestling match!

One of my early vet visits. I LOVE the vet's! I get sooo excited to go! They have to spell it out when we are getting ready to go, otherwise I get myself exhausted from excitement be fore we even get there!

Angela was one of the first "grown-up" bulldogs I met. She seemed soooo tall to me!! She was very sweet and friendly!

OH WAIT! Something fun DID happen! Yesterday I had a BATH! Oh my goodness! I just luuuuuuuuuvv baths! I especially love the towel rubbing and usually I go for a few lightening fast laps around the house afterwards, too!

Well, that's all for today folks! Have a great evening and I hope you've had a little more excitement in this horribly hot month of August!

RAINING . . . AGAIN

I am getting really frustrated with the weather around here! Either it's too humid to go out during the day or it's RAINING (like today)!! However yesterday morning, it was just lovely and I spent some time with My Lisa in the yard while she worked in the garden. I love it!!

Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers!!

This is my "Time to go inside? I don't think so!" position. When in this mode, I can just BARELY be bribed with treats!

Can't she see I'm having WAY too much fun??

My Lisa tricked me with my favorite treats and we ended up going back inside because it was getting to hot for me.
I can't wait for autumn :-(

SMILES ALL AROUND ! !

Finny has tagged me to post photos of me smiling! This is my first tag, so I hope I don't disappoint! I decided that laughing is an extention of a smile, so that's included, too:

Me laughing during my first romp on the front lawn when I was a super-tiny baby:

I am tagging next:
BILLY, SMUDGE and TOBY (I tried to be sure these aren't repeats, if they are, Sorry!!!).
We can't wait to see your smiles!!!

P.S. Thank you Lorenza, for the Rockin Guy Blogger Award!! :-)

IT'LL DO FOR NOW [ kidding! ;) ]

Hello!
I wanted to make this post last week, but my Patra (she who types for me...) can be sooooooooooo LAZY sometimes! Finally, here it is :-)

So, I had talked about wanting a new bed a while ago and Balboa mentioned how he chews and tears his up for that very reason! Well, I took your "advice" (thanks!!):

It started small, but I made it bigger slowly so it was subtle. Once she saw it, My Lisa wasn't going to let me sleep in a ripped bed! Later the next day, she came home with a new one for me!!! Whoo-hoo! It's not the couch that is at the top of my list (she's working on that, she says), but it's new and comfy and ready for me to make my own!

YESTERDAY . . .

Today, I'm stuck inside beacuse it's raining. I'm not a big fan of the rain. I LOVE the snow, but the rain? No thank you! (although, the puddles left behind are always fun).
So, I'm left to just look out the window and dream of drier, warmer days (like yesterday) . . .

Yesterday was nice and sunny and warm. My Lisa put out a large bowl of water with a big ball of ice in it on the lawn, so I could play "Bobbing for Ice" and stay cool.

I know it's in here somewhere, I just saw it!

Darn! I ALMOST had it!!

I got it!!! Yay!
I had to bark at it a little to make sure it wasn't going to jump around and try to get away like it did in the bowl . . .

When the ice was gone, I got bored. So, I decided to do something that I thoroughly enjoy AND that gets my Lisa's goat. EATING GRASS!!!

Such a nice quiet afternoon!

But, that was yesterday, and today is rainy and yucky :-(

Standing in for Binky

Across the street and a little to the side there lives a collie-mix pup named Binky. Binky is a very pretty girl who has a very important job! Binky's house is situated in the perfect spot to be able to see a mian road, our street and several side streets. This allows Binky to keep tabs on the whole neighborhood! She lets us know everything! If someone is coming around the corner, she barks. If a car that doesn't "live" around here turns into the neighborhood, she barks. If a dog is coming around on their walk, she barks. If one of the dog owners on the block are coming home, she barks. I think you get the idea! She provides an invaluable service to us dogs in the area!

Anyway, on Sunday, Binky wasn't at "work"! So, I barked over to see if she was ok. She said she was stuck inside because no one would be home until the evening. Oh, the horror! She asked if I would step in for her for the afternoon while I was outside with my Lisa. Being the gentleman and good friend that I am, I of course agreed!

Me, the "new sheriff on the block":

Here, I am sitting to avoid my cover being blown!

KEEPING MY EYES PEELED!
(Hey... is that the ice cream truck down there? ? ?)

Break Time! (I'll lay here and wait for lunch to be served . . . )

Time for a neighborhood perimeter check . . . .

Relaxing after a hard day's work . . . . .

Whew! Binky sure makes this look easy! I hope I did a good job, my Lisa said I did, I hope Binky thinks so.

DOWN AT THE FISHING PIER

Hi everyone!

On Saturday, Patra interrupted my nap and asked me if I wanted to go for a drive. Well, she knows she doesn't have to ask ME twice... I LOVE a drive!

It was early evening and I was wondering where we were going. The windows were open a bit and I could smell something different but familiar in the air. . . kinda salty. And then I knew . . . "we're going to the big water!!!" On our way there, there was a road check and we had to stop. The officer on the left told us we were "good" and to continue on, just then the officer on the right (my side of the car) said, "Hey! Look at the bulldog!" So the other officer peeked in, "Oh wow! He's really cute! Cool dog!!" I telepathically said "Thanks! I like you too, you're a nice guy!" And we were back on our way.

Moments later, we turned right and pulled into the Pier/Bait Station parking lot. Let me explain that unfortunately, dogs are not allowed out of the car at the beach or any part of the "State Park/Beach" property. They have signs all over to let us know :-( Personally, I think the rule is just plain silly. It's the PEOPLE that leave all kinds of messes behind, not us pets! We just want to have a nice time and play!

Anyway, Patra drove around and pulled up along the edge of the parking lot closest to the fishing piers, so I could smell and watch. I LOVE "people watching"! There was a man at the end of the kayak pier that was interesting :

But this guy was a lot more fun to watch. He kept flailing this big stick back and forth . . . I thought at first that maybe he wanted to play with me! But he didn't pay much attention to me (I think maybe he was visually impaired and just COULDN'T see me. Why else would anyone not notice or pay attention to a bulldog, right?). He continued to play with the stick, then got frustrated and left. I think he was new to this because he was dressed a lot nicer than the others who were there!

I the sun started going down and we parked on the other side so I could watch. I love sunsets! :

I suddenly felt kinda tired and began to yawn. Patra took the hint and began driving home. I was feeling a bit munchy and was hoping she would stop at the big yellow "M" on our way (as is our habit most of the time . . .) and, she did NOT disappoint! When we got home, I had a few fries and a tiny taste of the ice cream (why is she so stingy with the ice cream??). I settled on to the couch (I'm trying to boycott my beds to get a new one!) and waited for my Lisa to come home.

What a nice evening!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY . . . I'M 4 !!

Cheerio!
Well, my birthday was this past Saturday. No new bed :-(
Apparently, my other beds are in great shape and comfy (I KNEW I should have chewed holes in them!!). In my opinion, a bulldog can NEVER have too many!!

However I DID have a bone shaped peanut butter flavored cake from Bone Appetit. YUUUUUMMMMMYYYY!!! I couldn't have the WHOLE thing, though. "We" saved some for another day.
And I got new toys!!!! My favorite new toy is called "HIDE-A-SQUIRREL". It is a fluffy hollow tree stump with three holes. There are 3 squeeky squirrels that fit in the holes and the object is to find them and get them out. It's so much fun and really smoooshable! I especially like playing with it around 2 in the morning, when it's nice and quiet. You can really hear the squeeks echo then!

All in all, even though it was hot outside :-( , it was a great day! I think that bulldogs should have birthday WEEKS, instead of just days!

I WANT A NEW BED

Every year around this time (it's almost my birthday!) I drop hints to my Lisa that my cute little tushie needs a nice new cushie! Usually, she picks up on it pretty well. This year, though, she's very busy so I thought I'd help her out and do a little bit o' research myself. Here's what I came up with:

This one is called the "Bone-A-Fido Sofa" from BEDSFORDOGGIES.COM. The cushion cover is washable, a plus for my Lisa, but it's a little small (for dogs 32lbs and under) so even though it's super-cute, unfortunately I can't put it in my "Maybe" column.

I clicked on this link because the name was clever, DURA-BULL DOG BEDS. This bed is "Ergonomically Correct" with "Skeletal Support and Pliable Memory Foam Comfort". It is chew and tear resistant, which again is a big plus for my Lisa. However, while this bed seems to be comfortable and supportive, it's kind of low and not really what I had in mind.

The "Chocolate Blues Twill Dog Bed" is a great bed. I really like this one! It's quite stylish! Washable, durable, looks nice and squishy soft!
This one is on the "Maybe" list!

* * *THE NEXT TWO ARE THE FINALISTS!!* * *

This Modular Sectional from BIG DOG BEDS is the runner up, mainly due to it's price :-( ($680 BEFORE shipping!!!!)
This bed is fantastic! I mean, it even has bulldogs ON IT, so that must mean it's almost, if not totally, perfect, right?

I think this pet couch from DOG BED WORKS might suit my little bottom to a T!
Washable and durable (pluses for my Lisa) it comes in four sizes, supports up to 400 pounds (my friends can sleep over!), super soft cushion, replaceable parts should any puppy parties get out of hand, and it's the perfect size for under the window!
I think this is the one!!!!!

Now, I just have to convince my Lisa . . . . . .

Look What I Found . . .

Hello!
We found some fun stuff online this afternoon and thought it would be nice to share!!

At the UNCOMMON GOODS website, I found this photo album. It's handmade of copper so it looks really nice, not cheesy at all!

At the same webite, I also found this really unique calendar. It has individual cards for the month, the day of the week, and the date and a beautiful photo of a dog on each one. The best part is, you can use it over and over again!

At the EXPRESSIONARY.com site, there is this adorable set of note crads. It can be personalized and has a matching notepad, labels and stationary. They offer styles for 13 different dog breeds.
